No Name Needed
In my fervor to get past the dreaded "Suggested Users" stage of Google+, I circled a lot of people, and my stream was pretty disheveled. Well, I've been doing a lot of spring stream cleaning here at Google+, and after a month I think I've finally got my stream pretty well figured out.
I'm also following +Mike Elgan 's advice, and formulating a "League" of my own, a group of people that really define my G+ experience. Mike's here because, quite simply, the advice he's given over hangouts has helped me figure out the why's of Social Media, when the countless tutorials assist with the how's.
+Arthur Gwynne was one of the first users that I interacted with on Google Plus. An intelligent individual that posts on a myriad of subjects ranging from the #tech and #nerdy , to the #philosophical and #political . If you're looking for a thought invoking debate, look no further.
+Linda Lawrey is one of the few people that posts more than five times a day, but never posts something that isn't worth reading. She's quickly replaced the need for an RSS feed (for me, at least), and helps her readers keep informed engaged in #currentevents .
+Daniel Estrada aggregates (and creates) some pretty impressive content on his stream relating to #technology and its societal implications. A lot of it is pretty easy to digest, but I'm not to proud to admit that his work on #attentioneconomy took more than a few reads to understand. A superb engager and intelligent blogger, check him out.
+Shamil Weerakoon is a Google Plus guru. If you're looking for an inexhaustibly expansive list of #googleplustips , he's either created them or knows where to find them. His success in G+ is making us successful at G+, and he's a must for plussers old and new alike.
There's no box to fit +Michelle Marie into, engaging and thought provoking, Michelle doesn't really specialize. You can't take a look at her page and instantly classify her posts as "nerdy," "techie," or promoting any particular industry; but you'll usually find a good conversation thread on her posts.
+Johan Horak , is our resident Social Media Casanova (Seriously, you should market that man). He is an engaging individual who enjoys helping the masses get the most out of their social media experience. If Shamil aggregates and creates, then Johan makes it come to life.
I can appreciate #photography , but I'm usually not a very big photography buff. However, if you're only going to follow one photographer, it needs to be +Mike Shaw .
+The Verge is probably one of my favorite techie news sites. Unlike +Lifehacker , and +WIRED , they don't spam your stream with a bunch of crap; they limit themselves on what they post, and it's almost always relevant to a netizen.
+Roy DePhillip doesn't post three to four times a day, but that's probably because he spends his G+ time replying to everyone else's content. There have been times when I'll post 100-200 word post, leave for five minutes, and find a conversation between Roy and another poster going on with 300+ word replies.
+Lorna Salgado may not interest too many netizens, but for those of us who aspire to healthy living, you'll want to make sure to follow her. Her articles are always straight forward, to the point, and related to #health and #nutrition .
If I really need to explain the +Dalai Lama or +TED , then I'm not sure why you're here in the first place. :)
